Jars of Spooky Treats!

Hi Everyone!  Hope you're enjoying your weekend.  I had a few extra minutes so thought I would take the opportunity to share one of the Halloween cards made in this week's card class. Attendees had lots of fun making this card.  The Jar of Haunts and matching Everyday Jar Framelits Dies makes it easy to create a variety of Halloween cards or treat holders.  The options are almost endless!

A few items to note when making the card...in the jar with the floating eyeball, the water portion was lightly sponged with Soft Sky ink to add a slight color contrast.  The center jar images were stamped directly onto Old Olive and a Real Red Stampin' Marker was used to color the dripping blood on the jar.  The jar lid was stamped onto basic gray and highlighted with clear Wink of Stella.  Smoky Slate Stampin' Marker outlines the mummy jar and the smallest Basic Rhinestone Jewels are the peeking eyes.  The spider web stamp is found in the Ghoulish Grunge set and the sentiment is from Spooky Fun.  I'm sure you see the randomly stamped spiders!

Thanks for stopping by and don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions or wish to purchase any of the products used in this project!

Spooky Skeleton!

Weeks behind on my posting but sometime life has "unexpected surprises" and I'm hoping that soon I will catch-up!  I have several photos to edit so they can be shared.  My posts will be short so that I can get the photos online...but as always, send me an email or add a comment with any questions regarding projects.

Since the release of the new Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog, I've had fun playing with many of the new stamp sets.  I've started prepping for the next class which will include Halloween and Fall projects.  One of the Halloween cards, "Spooky Skeleton", will be available for attendees to make.  It uses a combination of the Halloween themed stamp bundles...they are all fantastic and it's difficult to select which is my favorite!

I'll have more projects posted soon to help you with "trick or treat" preparations.

Jar of Love Floral Bouquet

Have you ever gone on vacation and returned to find it hard to get back on track?   Currently, that's what I'm trying to do!  My husband and I went on one of our bucket list trips, a Baltic Cruise, so I'm a bit behind but the trip was so worth putting things aside for a few weeks.  Another great thing - the day I returned home, my Stampin' Up!  Holiday Catalog preorder arrived and I am planning projects to share with you soon.

The project today utilizes the Jar of Love Stamp Set and the coordinating Everyday Jars Framelits Dies.  I'm loving this set!  This set offers lot of versatility and just a note - the Holiday Catalog has several stamp sets that also coordinate with the Everyday Jars Framelits so you'll want to add them to your "must have" list.  Remember that if you purchase the bundle, you'll save 10%.

The card base is Sweet Sugar Plum cardstock topped with a layer of Rich Razzleberry cardstock.  The larger flowers were stamped with the coordinating stamping ink pads...the Sweet Sugarplum was stamped off first onto a scrap of paper to produce a lighter color intensity.  The smaller flowers were stamped using Daffodil Delight as the base and Crushed Curry for the second stamped layer.  A strip of Blooms & Bliss Designer Series Paper (DSP) was added to help balance the look.  Soft Suede was used to stamp the jar and sentiment on the tag.

I'm working on projects and will be back on my regular posting schedule next week.

Bright & Cheery!

In a recent class, the Fruit Stand Suite was used to create a variety of cards.  One of the cards uses the floral paper included in the Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper (DSP).  It includes several of the new 2016-2017 colors enabling one to create a "bright and cheery" card. Note the use of the new ruched ribbon on the card - the ruched ribbon has become a favorite of mine!

More...New Catalog Open House

Last month's New Catalog Open House was a lot of fun and as noted in my last post, attendees had much to do and see.  I wanted to share a few more photos of the event that was enjoyed that afternoon...

Lastly but most importantly thank you to Andrea ("Andy") for taking photos of the event.  I neglected to get a photo of her when she was working on her make & takes...shame on me!

New Catalog Open House

To celebrate the release of the 2016-2017 Stampin' Up! catalog, I held an Open House last month.  It was a fun filled afternoon with attendees.  There were make & takes, Paper Pumpkin kits and games for everyone to enjoy.  When guests arrived, they were greeted and were given a gift bag to use for filling with various giveaways...it was like trick or treating!  Of course, there were no tricks, just treats. In the bag, an embellished note pad and pen were included.  Below are a few photos from the event...

More Foxy Friends!

In my blog post, I provided details on the card made during the Facebook Live broadcast. If you saw the video, you also saw the treat holder and the gift card holder that was demonstrated.  I am sharing a photo of the items in this post.  The Foxy Friends stamp set contains a variety of stamps that allow for lots of creativity!

Treat & Gift Card Holders using Foxy Friends Stamp Set & A Little Foxy DSP Stack from Stampin' Up!
The origami treat holder is easy to make and the A Little Foxy Designer Series Paper Stack is the perfect size for creating the holder.  I couldn't resist and had to add a fox peeking over the edge!  The mini kraft bag was purchased at Walmart and is approximately 4 3/4" x 2 1/2".  It's perfect for holding a gift card attached to a small piece of card stock.  You can see how to make these items on my Facebook page (Margaret Knight, Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator).
