Bags & Tags - Part 2

Hope you're having a good week!  It seems that Spring is taking it's time arriving. We seem to have a couple of "teaser days" followed by freezing temperatures.  Let's hope that as March comes to an end, the weather will improve and we'll get back to more normal temperatures!

As mentioned in last week's post, the "Bags & Tags" class made four bags.  Today, the final two bags are being shared.

The first is an embellished white gift bag.  It's extremely simple but is a great way to "dress up" a plain bag.  Like the previous gift bags, the Sweet Sorbet DSP from Sale-a-bration was used. I am going to miss this paper - it's one of my favorites!  For the bag below, Crisp Cantaloupe card stock was layered with a piece of the Sweet Sorbet DSP and attached to the white gift bag.  A flower was crafted by using the 2-3/4" scallop circle punch to cut layers of Whisper White card stock.  The edges were sponged with the Crisp Cantaloupe Classic Stamping pad ink and the scallop circles scrunched and layered to form the flower.  The banners were cut using the Banner Framelits.

The last bag was made by cutting two equal sized pieces of Sweet Sorbet DSP, scoring to form sides and using strong adhesive to join the pieces to form a rectangular gift bag.  The tag was made using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch - which is an extremely versatile tool that can be used to create more than just tags.  The Petite Petals stamp set was used to stamp on the tag with Pistachio Pudding Classic Stamping Pad and with Crisp Cantaloupe onto a scrap of Whisper White card stock.  The Petite Petals punch was used to punch the flowers stamped with the Crisp Cantaloupe for layering with Stampin' Dimensionals onto the tag.  Of course, you notice the bling in the flower centers!

Bags & Tags - Part 1

As you have guessed by now, the past few weeks have been busy and I've neglected my blog. The good news is that I have made some beautiful projects that I'll be sharing with you in the upcoming days. A "Bags & Tags" class was held last week and the group of a dozen ladies were able to make four decorated bags that will be perfect to use for gift giving. Today, I am sharing two of the bags.  The remaining gift bags will be posted later this week.

The first was made using one sheet of 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP) to construct the bag. The finished bag size is approximately 5-1/2" x 8". There are numerous plans for making paper bags and boxes online but the plans for this particular bag came from "Stamp Academy". Thanks to the Stamp Academy gals for their great instructions!

The second bag is an embellished Tag a Bag gift bag.  The chrysanthemum was a blast to make and really makes the bag special.  Several Stampin' Up! demonstrators have videos online showing methods for making the flower and I watched Tanya Bell's short video on You Tube as a guide for making my sample.  The flower base was made using Daffodil Delight card stock punched with the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle and 1-3/4" Scallop Circle.  Edges were sponged using Crisp Cantaloupe Classic Stampin' Pad.   To add glimmer, Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz was misted on each layer of the flower.  Be sure to check out Tanya's tutorial for the simple steps.
