More…New Catalog Open House

Last month’s New Catalog Open House was a lot of fun and as noted in my last post, attendees had much to do and see.  I wanted to share a few more photos of the event that was enjoyed that afternoon…

New Catalog Open House

To celebrate the release of the 2016-2017 Stampin’ Up! catalog, I held an Open House last month.  It was a fun filled afternoon with attendees.  There were make & takes, Paper Pumpkin kits and games for everyone to enjoy.  When guests arrived, they were greeted and were given a gift bag to use for filling with various giveaways…it was like trick or treating!  Of course, there were no tricks, just treats. In the bag, an embellished note pad and pen were included.  Below are a few photos from the event…

More Foxy Friends!

In my blog post, I provided details on the card made during the Facebook Live broadcast. If you saw the video, you also saw the treat holder and the gift card holder that was demonstrated.  I am sharing a photo of the items in this post.  The Foxy Friends stamp set contains a variety of stamps that allow for lots of creativity!
Treat & Gift Card Holders using Foxy Friends Stamp Set & A Little Foxy DSP Stack from Stampin’ Up!
The origami treat holder is easy to make and the A Little Foxy Designer Series Paper Stack is the perfect size for creating the holder.  I couldn’t resist and had to add a fox peeking over the edge!  The mini kraft bag was purchased at Walmart and is approximately 4 3/4″ x 2 1/2″.  It’s perfect for holding a gift card attached to a small piece of card stock.  You can see how to make these items on my Facebook page (Margaret Knight, Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator).

A Little Foxy Hello

Last evening I held a live Facebook event, Monday Night Mania, on Facebook.  The theme was “feeling foxy”.  The inspiration for the card demonstrated was the cover of a journal purchased at Walmart. You can check it out on my Facebook page, Margaret Knight, Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator and also watch the card construction.  Below is the card that was inspired by the journal cover…

A Little Foxy Hello using Stampin’ Up! Foxy Friends Photopolymer Stamp Set

To create the card, Basic Gray card stock (CS) was used as the base and a 4 3/4″ X 1 3/4″ piece of A Little Foxy Designer Series Paper (DSP) was added to the layer of Whisper White CS (4 3/4″ X 3 1/2″). Whisper White thick baker’s twine was tied around the layer.  A fox was stamped onto a piece of Whisper White CS in Basic Gray Archival ink using the Fox Friends Photopolymer Stamp Set and cut using the Layering Circles Framelits.  A piece of white felt was cut and attached to the tail to create a “furry tip”.  A 3 1/4″ square of Pool Party CS was stamped using the zigzag stamp from Work of Art stamp set using Bermuda Bay and cut with a circle framelit to create a base for the fox circle.  The sentiment  for the stamp set in the Watercolor Wishes Card set was stamped in Basic Gray Archival ink. Dimensionals were used to attach the fox to the card base.

Strawberry Fruit Stand

Yes, I’m in catch-up mode and working to share projects with you!  Summertime activities are keeping me busy but my goal is to get back on track in the next week.  I do hope that this post finds that you’re enjoying your summer too!
The card being shown today was made in a recent class and utilizes a technique that was demonstrated while at the Stampin’ Up! OnStage Live event in April.  Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Kim Williams (http://www.stampinwithkjoyink.typepad.com/) used the Fruit Stand Suite in her presentation of various cards.  The technique she shared involved stamping the image using a classic Stampin’ ink pad onto a piece of watercolor paper, misting the stamped paper with water, then applying clear embossing powder over the misted paper. Complete the technique using the heat tool to melt the embossing power covering the image to create an “orange peel” texture.  It’s a fun technique so hope you give it a try!
Thank You Card using Stampin’ Up! Fresh Fruit Stamp Set & Farm Stand Designer Series Paper
The strawberry patterned DSP from the Farm Stand Designer Series Paper package is one of my favorite prints from the stack.  To me, it screams summer!
