Halloween Treat Bag

I must admit that I am not a cat person but when I saw the cat punch in the Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog, I knew it had to go onto my must have list.  Since several friends have cats, the punch will get lots of use.  What is great is that the punch coordinates not only with the Spooky Cat stamp set but also the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper (DSP).  For the treat bag below, I used the cat punch to cut the black cat from the DSP. The witches hat was fussy cut for the DSP also.  The cutting instructions for the treat bag are from Angie Juda.

"Year of Cheer Suite" Wedding Card

Recently we attended a wedding and I immediately knew that the Year of Cheer Suite was going to be the "go to" for creating a card for the newlywed couple.  The Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) created the perfect background for layering with a foil snowflake.  Yes, it's a snowflake but it's a great embellishment for a variety of card styles.  The focal sentiment was stamped from the Cheers to the Year stamp set using Soft Suede ink and the trio of hearts was stamped with Real Red.  A small bow was created using the 1/8" Gold Ribbon and added for extra dimension.

Fun Fold with Painted Harvest

One of my favorite stamp sets in the newly released Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog is  Painted Harvest.  The sunflower stamp can be used with a variety of colors to create beautiful stamped flowers.  In a recent class, I decided to mix it up and use colors that coordinated with the  Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper (DSP).  Don't you love the look of the flower stamped using Emerald Envy and Lemon Lime Twist inks?  Note that the flower stamp is a Two Step stamp and the first step stamp may appear to only partially stamp.  This actually is the way the stamp is designed and not a flaw with the stamp.  When the second step is stamped, the flower becomes complete.  It's also recommended that when using photopolymer stamps to use a piercing mat to ensure even pressure when stamping.  The fun fold card design was CASED from Janet Wakeland with just a few slight modifications.

A Touch of Elegance using an Embossing Folder

A great method for adding a touch of elegance to a card is to use a Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (TIEF).  In the card below, the Garden Trellis TIEF was used to emboss not just the cardstock but also the Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper (DSP).  When constructing the card, attach the pieces of DSP to the cardstock layer then insert into the TIEF and run through the Big Shot.  Both layers are embossed at the same time and the embossing adds that little extra touch of dimension creating a subtle elegance to the card.  Best of all, it's quick and easy!
